A KCSO deputy is being investigated after his estranged wife accused him of using steroids.

According to court documents obtained by 23ABC, the property of a KCSO deputy was searched after his estranged wife accused him of possessing and using anabolic steroids. The wife said that she had proof via a picture that reportedly showed 3 vials of steroids next to his KCSO badge. She also said that she has witnessed him using the drugs.

According to the wife, the deputy had gained a lot of muscle mass over the past few months. She also said that he has started breaking out in face and body acne and became moody, which are unusual for him.

When the deputy was questioned, he asked to speak to a lawyer. During the execution of a search warrant, KCSO deputies found "a cap to a single use 22 gauge 1-inch syringe." A blood test was also requested for the deputy.

KCSO announced on October 1 a new drug-testing policy regarding deputies. According to the new policy, 15 to 30 KCSO employees will be randomly tested every six months.
