BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office share a Facebook post on Wednesday, December 26 showing how one of their deputies went the extra mile to help out a family in need of some humankindness.

On December 15, Jonella Martinez found that someone had opened a trailer that was parked at her property on Oswell Street and stole several Christmas gifts that were intended for children at the residence.

Deputy Sanchez, who grew up in the area was familiar with the homes annual light show and purchased multiple gifts for Martinez with her own money to replace the stolen presents.

On December 23, she was able to stop by the home to drop off the gifts.
