KCSO rescues 93-year-old woman with dementia in Rosamond

On June 14, 2017, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Kern County Sheriff's Office received a report that a 93 year old woman, who suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia, was missing from her residence in the 2100 block of Alexander Avenue in Rosamond.

After searching unsuccessfully for about an hour, patrol deputies requested the assistance of the Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Unit.  

 Volunteers from the Search and Rescue's K-9 Unit responded with a trailing dog to assist with the search. Approximately 30 minutes after beginning the search, the K-9 Unit safely located the woman hiding in the front yard of a residence several blocks away.
