Kern County Sheriff's Office deputies searching for suspect who was shooting gun

UPDATE (October 20, 2017 12:45 p.m.): According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office deputies were able to find evidence that shots had been fired in the area.

There have not been any suspects located at this time, and they do not have any suspect information. 

The Kern County Sheriff's Office however has gotten in contact with local hospitals to see if any shooting victims have gone in, but they have not heard of anyone. 

Three men were detained, but were released. Once KCSO locates a suspect, that suspect faces negligent discharge charges. 

The lockdown on Munsey Elementary School has been lifted.

Kern County Sheriff's Office deputies are currently searching for a suspect who was shooting a gun in the area of Apache Ave. and Real Rd. 

At about 11 a.m., Munsey Elementary School was put on lockdown as a precaution to the shooting.

Portions of South Real Road. may be closed as deputies search for the suspect.
