UPDATE: The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting in Lamont.

KCSO says the shooting happened at around 11:30 on Sunday morning at Kearney Avenue near San Diego Street. A male victim was found at the scene, where he later died.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no suspect information at this time.

ORIGINAL: The Kern County Sheriff's Office has blocked traffic in Lamont near San Diego St. and Kearney Ave.

Initial reports are that there was a shooting in the area.
