BAKERSFIELD – A new community education program is coming to Kern Medical: Safe Home, Safe Baby.
The program is in collaboration with the Bakersfield Firefighter’s Burn Foundation, First 5 Kern, and the Kern County Department of Public. It aims to educate Kern County families about fire safety, burn and scald prevention, and how to create a safe sleeping environment for babies.
In addition, Kern Medical will offer monthly educational classes where attendees can receive a safety kit that includes a smoke detector, a scald prevention card, and a portable crib.
The first class will be held on Wednesday, April 26th, at 6 p.m. in Room 1058 at Kern Medical.
A Spanish translator will be available at all classes for Spanish-speaking individuals.
