The Kern River Parkway Multi-use Trail (AKA Bike Path) is temporarily closed due to a large mud slide covering the trail and making it unsafe to use.

A broken irrigation line on the Panorama bluffs above the trail created a washout that covered the trail with a large amount of mud. Crews are currently clearing the mud and cleaning the trail.

The closure is expected to be in place until Tuesday, December 6. Cyclists and other users of the trail area advised to take alternate routes.

The City thanks the public for their patience during the repair and clean-up efforts.
