A Lamont family continues to deal with problems involving their 6 year old son Abraham's peanut allergy and the Lamont School Districts lack of cooperation.

Jesus Mendez recently discovered their young son was allergic to peanuts because of a severe reaction. He's followed all the right steps in ensuring his son's safety, including notifying Alecante Elementary School of his son's severe allergy, and giving them their doctors paperwork and medication. Within the past few weeks, there have been 2 instances where Mendez was exposed to peanuts.

Kern County Superintendent of Schools tells 23ABC these types of matters are dealt with on a district-by-district basis, and that there is no blanket policy county-wide.

Mendez has dealt with the principal, vice principal, and district personnel, and hopes to find a resolution so he can send his son to school without worrying, and ensuring his safety.

As of Friday evening, Lamont School District hasn't returned 23ABC's phone calls.
