Liquid lunchtime facelifts

Most people use their lunch break to, well, eat. A popular trend is causing some people to use that time to get a facelift.

Like so many moms, Bakersfield resident Laurie Collom is so busy taking care of others, that she forgets to take care of herself.

Stress and how we deal with it can sometimes affect the way we look. For some, it can cause those unwanted strands of gray hair, that stubborn extra weight or even wrinkles.

"My forehead which over the period of stress that I had gone through had developed these deep lines right in here and I hate to say it, but I almost looked like a devil," Collom said.

Collom spent a lot of her focus on her son, Nick, who had a brain tumor and cancer.

After months of chemotherapy, her son pulled through. Nick was cancer-free by Mother's Day 2016. His mother had a special request from him.

Collom sent her son a link to a Mommy Makeover contest held by local cosmetic surgery company Beautologie.

"I said, 'If you want to get me a good Mother's Day gift, this would be perfect," Collom said.

And so her son submitted a letter explaining why his mom deserved to win, she won, and her 'Mommy Makeover' journey began.
