Bakersfield Police took one person into custody following a short pursuit in Central Bakersfield early Friday morning.
The chase started just around 3 in the morning and ended up on Brundage Lane near Oleander.
Police say it started as a routine traffic stop then the driver took off, but stopped a short time later.
According to police, a gun was thrown out the window of the car during the chase and ended up in the area of F Street on Brundage.
Police were able to find the gun.
