One man is trekking 150 miles to raise awareness for people that do not have medical insurance.
Santiago Nieto is a volunteer for the non-profit foundation “Surgery Without Borders” or C-S-F located in Bakersfield.
Nieto is an avid walker so he says the idea to walk for a cause came naturally.
The foundation aims to provide free medical surgeries for the uninsured.
It's operated entirely by volunteer doctors and other hospital staff.
Nieto's 5-day journey began at the organization's office and will end in downtown Los Angeles.
He plans to walk-30 miles each day.
