More than Two dozen cited for license violations during DUI/License checkpoint

Posted

Bakersfield Police say more than two dozen drivers received citations Tuesday night during their DUI and driver's license checkpoint in East Bakersfield.

BPD held the checkpoint between the hours of 6 p.m. and 12 a.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Union Avenue. They say a total of 1236 vehicles were screened, with two drivers being detained to determine their sobriety levels. Ultimately, no arrests were made by BPD for drivers being under the influence.

However, BPD says 29 drivers were cited for driving without a license, and 16 drivers were found to be driving on a suspended license.
