CaliBurger plans to reopen in SW Bakersfield in spring with burger-flipping robot

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — After closing its Oildale location, CaliBurger said it plans to relocate to Southwest Bakersfield but this time with "Flippy, the Burger Flipping Robot" as one of its employees.

On its Facebook page, the burger joint last reported that its new location will be at Gosford Road and Panama Lane and is scheduled to open sometime in Spring of 2020.

This year, CaliBurger closed its location off Highway 99 and Olive Drive in Oildale. The ribbon cutting for that location was held in February of 2018.

23ABC reached out to the City of Bakersfield who said development services hasn't received anything from the owners on their new construction plans.

According to its Facebook post, the Bakersfield location said it will expand the menu and feature CaliChicken and CaliDogs and ten CaliBurger options at the new store.

The business added that "Flippy, the Burger Flipping Robot" will be joining its staff. Flippy has also been introduced at the CaliBurger in Pasadena Check out Flippy in action below:
