BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A new community center offering a computer lab, full kitchen and a laundry room opened Friday at the North Park Apartments in Oildale.
Named after a well-known leader in housing and community development, the Stan Keasling Community Center is a 2,711 square feet building equipped to host after school programs which will provide lessons on literacy, finance, technology and health, according to the community development organization, Self-Help Enterprises.
The organization said its mission is to work with low-income families to build and sustain healthy homes and communities.
