If salons or barbershops have offered you complimentary beer, wine, or any alcoholic beverages, it was surprisingly illegal up to this point.
California Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law a bill allowing salons and barbershops in the state to serve complimentary drinks to their customers.
There are some restrictions. Businesses would be required to not serve more than one drink per customer.
For wine, it can not be more than six ounces per glass. For beer, it can not exceed 12 ounces.
Deanna Araujo is the owner of a local hair salon. "I don’t think it’s new to the industry at all. For it to be now legislated so that we can do it, I’m just happy, happy, happy."
The law would go into effect starting January of next year.
So during a future visit to the hairstylist, make a toast to a new law.
