The race for California's governor is on.
Gavin Newsom and John Cox were selected among 27 candidates to head to the General Election in November.
Gavin Newsom, a Democratic candidate, led the polls with 33.4% of the vote.
John Cox, a Republican candidate, followed behind with 26.1% of the vote.
The new governor will be chosen in November.
