North High School aviation students are taking to the skies today and flying with local volunteer pilots at Meadow's Field through EAA Young Eagles program.
The event takes place at Bakersfield Jet Center located at Meadow's Field from 9 a.m. until flights are completed, at around 1 p.m.
The students arrived Saturday morning and take part in a general presentation about safety and aircrafts from local pilots. Prior to flight, the students are taken through the preflight process, then spend approximately 20 minutes in the air with the pilots who are supporting this program.
