A former medical building goes up in flames Monday morning and investigators believe they know the cause of that fire.
Bakersfield city and Kern County fire crews responded to a fire around 2 a.m. at what used to be the Brundage Medical Clinic. The building has been reportedly closed for years and people who live nearby say it breaks their heart the clinic burned down.
Investigators determined the cause of the fire is due to squatters. Bakersfield fire says they have been watching this building for months after prior fires happened inside the building.
Investigators are looking at this fire as an arson case and are actively looking for suspects.
Damage is estimated at $200,000.00 dollars
