How school will look for the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District will not be known for at least another three weeks.

On Monday, the district's Board of Trustees discussed returning to school for the 2020-2021 school year, but pushed a final decision to July 21.

The district leaned toward offering parents two options for their students' return to school: 5-day-a-week in-person instruction or online distance learning.

The district had previously sent out a questionnaire to parents asking about options they'd be OK with. The options included: full online distance learning; alternating weeks of attendance; and two days on, three days off of attendance at schools.

During Monday's board meeting, the board heard from parents and teachers about their concerns and what they preferred.

It was agreed upon that giving parents the option to decide would be in the district's best interest.

District staff will dig deeper into the options and present their findings and `recommendations at the July 21 meeting.
