PG&E to relocate a section of electric line on Panama Lane this weekend

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — Pacific Gas and Electric Company will relocate overhead transmission and distribution electric lines in the southeast area of Bakersfield this weekend.

The highly visible project is taking place near the intersection of Panama Lane and Highway 99 between Wible Road and South H Street. The segment to be replaced begins on Dennen Street, in the Popeye’s parking lot and continues across Highway 99 for approximately 900 feet towards Colony Street. PG&E contractors will be utilizing bucket trucks and other equipment to lift crews over Panama Lane and Highway 99 to make the necessary upgrades.

The work is scheduled to take place Saturday and Sunday.

Hours of work vary and electric service will not be impacted.

Temporary lane closures and traffic controls will take place on Panama Lane and Highway 99.
