The sun is setting and Labor Day is coming to an end.
People across the country took the long weekend as a chance to get out of the house to travel. Many went to the national parks and campgrounds.
The Upper Kern River Campgrounds had opened just in time to meet tourists for the holiday weekend and now that it is over, the scene doesn't look the same.
Trash. It can be found without even trying. It seems that as some people head home, they are forgetting to clean up their mess.
Not everyone left behind trash however. Craig Lloyd and his family traveled from Long Beach and enjoyed a pleasant three nights under the stars.
Lloyd says that it is sad to see some campers not clean up after themselves and that on their way out, they are picking up whatever they see and throwing it away.
Other campers who saw Lloyd going around and cleaning up the trash left behind, also joined him and did their part to try and make this campground look better.
U.S Forest Service volunteers will be coming through tomorrow and Wednesday morning at 8 to pick up the trash they see at all of the campgrounds.
