Bakersfield buzzing after Runners make tourney

Following Saturday's thrilling victory, the CSU Bakersfield men's basketball team gathered together and awaited their opponent.

The Runners will take on the University of Oklahoma Sooners on Friday in CSUB's first NCAA tournament game in school history. 

After learning about their opponent in a private watch party, the team went to Lengthwise to celebrate with fans.

Fans were still celebrating Saturday's buzzer beater.

"What we did yesterday, our guys winning the WAC. It's unbelievable, it's unbelievable," said Joe Vicente, who has been a fan of CSU Bakersfield since 1970.
 
Vicente added that the support the school is receiving is great to see.
 
"The community support for Cal State Bakersfield is unbelievable. We're happy and we are proud of our athletes and our school."
 
As for Friday's matchup with the Sooners, fans believe in the Runners.
 
"We have a team that believes so we will go there and we will see what happens," said Matt and Alan Wade, who were in Las Vegas to watch the Runners in the WAC tournament.
 
"We could do it."
 
Dedrick Basile, Saturday's hero and MVP of the WAC tournament, agrees.
 
"I hope we the Cinderella story. I really think we is and I really think we can do it. With this team we got, who knows what can happen."
