PORTERVILLE, Calif. — According to the Porterville Police Department, a 69-year-old man was struck and killed Wednesday evening while crossing Hockett Street. Authorities said a woman driving a GMC Sierra westbound on Locust Avenue turned onto Hockett, hitting the man as he was crossing the road.

The woman was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have played a part in the incident.

The victim's name has not been released at this time.
