BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — This week, a section of the Kern River Parkway Trail, the bike path near the Westside Parkway, will be closed starting Monday.
The trail will be closed Monday morning starting at 7 a.m. and remain closed through Friday until 5 p.m.
The closure is for the safe removal of temporary bridge construction structures above the path. This means that bicyclists, runners, joggers, and walkers who use the bike path must take a detour around the closure at Commercial Way and Empire Drive on the sidewalk.
