A Southern California Edison public safety power shutoff has impacted thousands of customers in Kern County.
According to Southern California Edison's website, 5,289 customers in Tehachapi, Bear Valley Springs and Stallion Springs are currently without power.
A message to SCE customers sent in texts and emails read, "SCE has proactively turned off power for public safety to your area due to current fire weather conditions."
