UPDATE (9:00 a.m.): Cummings Valley Elementary school is now closed today due to the power outage according to the Tehachapi Unified School District. Originally, the school was on a two-hour delay.

Multiple schools in Kern County are being impacted by planned power outages by utility companies Friday morning.

According to the Kern County Superintendent of Schools alert line, Cummings Valley School in the Tehachapi Unified School District will be on a two-hour delay due to the power outage. All other schools in the district will be on regular schedules.

El Tejon Middle School will not be in session at all Friday.
