UPDATE (August 5, 2:18 p.m.): BPD officers responded to Blue Cookie Marijuana Collective at 500 Workman Street for an adult man who was the victim of an apparent gunshot wound. 

He died at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: Bakersfield Police said the victim in the shooting this morning has died. 

Homicide investigators are on scene.

Bakersfield Police are on scene of a shooting in southeast Bakersfield. 

BPD received a call around 10:45 a.m. for reports of a shooting in the 500 block of Workman Street near a business called Blue Cookies. 

When officers arrived they found a man with major injuries from an apparent gunshot wound. 

Police are trying to determine what led up to the shooting. 

The victim's condition is unknown at this point.
