Results from the Tehachapi Drug Take-Back Day

The results are in from the Saturday, October 27, 2018 Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. The Tehachapi Police Department participated in the event to provide a safe, convenient and responsible meaning of disposing of prescription drugs.

According to the Tehachapi Police Department, officers collected approximately 217 pounds of unwanted or unused prescription drugs and medications. 

"We would like to thank the community in participating once again, removing 217 pounds of unwanted prescription medications from medicine cabinets and to responsibly dispose of them. Unfortunately, prescription medications are often stolen and by removing these unneeded drugs we also keep them off our street," said Kent Kroeger Chief of Police. 

The next DEA National Prescription Drug Take-Back will be held in April 2019. For more information about how to dispose of prescription drugs visit the DEA Diversion website.
