On Wednesday, December 14, two students will be honored by the American Heart Association and Union Bank for saving a life using CPR.
Eunique and Darian Latchison recently saved the life of their great-grandma Irene Sample by performing chest compression after she collapsed. Sample had been trained in CPR in order to become a licensed foster parent and insisted her great-grandchildren learned as well.
Because of their heroic efforts, Eunique and Darian will be featured on the 2017 Rose Parade float, Keep the Beat Alive, dedicated to teaching the life-saving skill.
Union Bank will also donate CPR training kits to Ridgeview High School to support their student CPR training, and the American Heart Association will help train dozens of students in hands-only CPR at the event.
