Saturday June 11th at 10:58 p.m., Kern Valley Substation deputies responded to Camp Kernville for a report of male adult who possibly fell from a cliff. 

 Deputies arrived on scene and found a male subject at the bottom of a cliff approximately 60 feet in height.  The subject was on the opposite side of the Kern River from the deputies and due to the river and surrounding terrain; the deputies were unable to reach the subject.  

The subject appeared to be suffering from serious head injuries.  Sheriff search and rescue personnel responded and deployed a raft into the river and were successful in reaching the subject.  

With the assistance of fire and ambulance personnel, the subject was placed into the raft and taken back across the river where medical personnel began treating him for serious injuries.  The subject was flown by Medevac helicopter to Kern Medical for further treatment.  

The subject’s current condition is unknown.  There were no witnesses to the incident and currently it is unknown how the subject fell.
