John Ridley writes a riveting script that's delivered by an all-star cast including Regina King, Lili Taylor, Felicity Huffman, and Timothy Hutton.
While the show is well into its second season, it's not too late to catch up and watch a masterpiece fold on your television screen.
Season 2 of 'American Crime,' tells the story of a high school boy who is sexually abused at a house party. Some evidence is captured on a smart phone, and it goes viral.
Connor Jessup, the actor who plays rape victim, Taylor Blaine, says he understands that social media makes these situations increasingly difficult.
"It's hard and you know, bullying, whether it's physical or if it's the increasing prevalent cyber bullying, which is more or less how this series starts...the distance that social media creates between a person who's doing the bullying and the person who gets bullied and it's a major problem" said Jessup.
It's an authentic storyline that audiences will easily relate to.
"Everyone will get it. And I think that's probably one of the best things about the show. Everyone does get it. And when I say get it, everyone is challenged by something. We get to see how they respond and a lot of times, it's not the way you thought. And sometimes we react as humans in ways we didn't even think we would act. So yeah, you in the world and in real life, everybody gets it," said co-star, Andre Benjamin.
