An apartment complex in Shafter was evacuated earlier today due to a gas leak.
The complex, Tulare Arms on West Tulare Ave., was evacuated at around 2 p.m. on Sunday for precautionary reasons after a contractor hit a gas line while trying to dig up a water line.
A total of 60 people were evacuated from their apartments; there were no injuries.
Evacuation orders have been lifted.
