The Kern County Sheriff's Office is searching for several suspects after a shooting at a medical marijuana dispensary.
Officials said around 6:00 p.m. on Friday night deputies responded to the "Peace & Medicine" medical marijuana dispensary in east Bakersfield for a shooting. The shop is located near Niles St. and Mount Vernon Ave.
According to KCSO, one of the suspects had a firearm and attempted to force their way into a secure area of the business.
The security guard at the shop, who was also armed with a firearm drew his weapon and confronted the suspects.
The security guard fired several round at the armed suspect and the suspect returned fire.
Numerous rounds were exchanged between the suspect and the security guard both inside and outside of the business.
Officials said they believe the suspect was hit with at least one round from the security guard, the security guard was not injured.
KCSO is now searching for the four men involved in the shooting.
