The Bakersfield Police Department is responding to the recent wave of shootings in town.
The department told 23 ABC news that they are investigating each shooting separately and they cannot confirm if they are gang related. They say, so far, it appears none of the shootings are related. Officers are increasing their presence around town in hopes of stopping this recent trend by doing more patrols and parole searches.
BPD says it’s important that the community stay vigilant and report any possible leads or suspicious activity.
