On 01/11/2016, at approximately 10:25 p.m., Marlin and Norma Stewart were driving northbound SR-99 and became disabled blocking traffic lanes south of SR-119.
They were lost and confused when contacted and were unaware of their location.
A records check revealed that both suffered from dementia, and the family had reported them as missing.
A Silver Alert had been issued out of Santee, CA (San Diego area).
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart had not eaten in a while so Officer M. Galvez, and Officer J. Anderson bought the Stewarts a meal at the McDonald's on Laval Road prior to transporting them home.
Arrangements were made to transport the Stewarts by CHP personnel from Bakersfield, CA to the Santa Ana CHP Office and were released to family members.
