CHP is hosting a class to help prevent crashes.

The Start Smart class will happen today Tuesday, September 12. Young drivers can learn safe driving habits including how to avoid a collision and how to not be a distracted driver.

Traffic collisions are the leading cause of death among teens ages 16-19. In California alone, teens are responsible for 66% of all accidents.

It is a free class and begins at 6 p.m. at the Bakersfield CHP Office.

Parents are encouraged to attend as well. For more information call 396-6600.
