The Stockdale High School color guard team is headed to the world championships.

The team won the Union City Regional Championships and will now head to Dayton, Ohio for the WGI Color Guard World Championships.

The world championship competition is made up of teams from 40 states and 5 countries. 

Color guard is a combination of dance and theater combined with gymnastics and precision color guard maneuvers, originally inspired by a military color guard.

The Stockdale High School team leaves to Ohio on Tuesday and will compete Thursday through Saturday.
