The Taft City Council is continuing to discuss the future of the marijuana industry in their town.

The city has started drafting an ordinance on the possibilities for for commercializing the industry there, according to the Planning and Development Director.

While the Taft City Council is not taking formal public comments like the County is with their marijuana industry proposal, residents of Taft and those interested in opening a business are welcome to leave comments.

The ordinance will look at land use and whether or not the city wants to ban the industry completely.

The proposal will be presented to the Planning Commission later this year.
