Kern County residents are being represented at the Republican Nation Convention in Ohio this week.
Jacob Lopez, 20, is from Taft and is serving as a delegate for the Trump Campaign. He represents the 23rd congressional district in California.
He is on the floor, right in the middle of the convention. This is his first trip to the RNC and said he is one of the youngest people there.
"I'm so honored about it. I've had so many friends back home in Taft taking pictures of me on the floor -- sending them to me over the air and it's really honoring and humbling to make it all the way out here from the small town of Taft. I just feel so humbled," said Lopez.
Lopez will stay in Ohio throughout the week. He said his is most excited to hear from Trump's running mate, Mike Pence.
