TEHACHAPI, Calif. — If you've never visited the city of Tehachapi, now is your chance to learn everything there is to know about the rural community from the comfort of your own home.
All you need is a pair of earbuds.
The city is launching its very own podcast "TehachaPod".
The podcast will be a conversation about all things Tehachapi featuring in-depth interviews with various people throughout the community. Each episode will about 30 minutes long, the average time of commute in Tehachapi according to Community Engagement Specialist Key Budge.
Budge will be a host on the podcast, along with Corey Costelloe and Greg Garrett. Both Budge and Costelloe have experience in radio, on-air and in station operations.
"Our goal is to have a conversation and make the listener feel as if they are in the room with us," said Budge.
"TehachaPod" is currently available on Libsyn.com and will soon be available on the iPhone/iPad App, Spotify, Android App, Microsoft Windows App, Soundcloud, Podcast Page among others. Episode 1 featured covered the topic of Public Safety Power Shutoffs and featured interviews with Senator Shannon Grove, Mayor Susan Wiggins and SCE Public Affairs representatives.
