The Walk to Defeat ALS is happening at Riverwalk Park Saturday. 

The walk is held across the country to raise funds that allow local chapters to sustain car services and support research for much of the following year. 

The check-in starts at 8:00 a.m. and the walk starts at 10:00 a.m. 

The event is happening at Riverwalk Park in northwest Bakersfield. 

The walk will be 1.8 miles.
