Please join us in celebrating November as National Adoption Awareness Month here in Kern County.
Kern County’s 14th Annual National Adoption Day celebration will be held today, Friday, November 18th, 2016.
Today’s event would not be possible without our partners for this event including Superior Courts of Kern County, CARE Foundation, Koinonia Foster Agency, Aspiranet Foster Agency, Kern Bridges Foster Agency, The Forgotten Initiative and CASA, as well as the many wonderful social workers and staff working to complete these adoptions and coordinate this special event. We expect 40 adoptions will be completed today in Kern County!
Nearly 2,000 children are in “Out-of-home” placement in Kern County. We have a constant need for foster and adoptive families willing to commit long term to these children. When children cannot return home to their families, they do best when they are able to find permanency through Adoption.
Children from infants to teenagers are waiting to be adopted right now in Kern County. We especially need people willing to adopt brothers and sisters together, children over 5 – including teenagers, and children with special medical needs.
Last fiscal year, 159 children were placed into adoptive homes. Please help us celebrate National Adoption Day here in Kern County!
