All trash and recycling services will be delayed by one day in Bakersfield and Tehachapi following both Christmas Day and New Years Day.

There will be no trash or recycling pick up on Christmas Day or New Year's Day, instead pick up services will be moved to the Tuesday directly after the holidays.

In Tehachapi, Waste Management's curbside residential and commercial trash and recycling pick-up schedule will be delayed by one day throughout the week of Dec. 25 and the week of Jan. 1.

Customers should place their carts out for pick-up one day later than usual, beginning Tuesday, Dec. 26 through Saturday, Dec. 30 and again on Tuesday, Jan. 2 through Saturday Jan. 6.

The Mt. Vernon Green Waste Facility will be closed on Christmas Day and will reopen on Tuesday Dec. 26 at 7 a.m. The waste facility will also be closed on Jan. 1st, but will reopen on the following Tuesday.

Christmas trees can be recycled at the Mt Vernon Green Waste Facility, however, all lights, ornaments, plastic and metal stands must be removed beforehand.

Christmas trees can also be recycled at Bakersfield College, California State University Bakersfield, or the fairgrounds parking lot between Dec. 26 and Jan. 12.
