This year, shipping companies expect more records to be broken for holiday package deliveries. Fed Ex, UPS and the post office will be delivering hundreds of millions of packages. Amazon is leading the way with more than a billion packages delivered.
With these high numbers of deliveries, residents should be extra cautious about bringing in their packages quickly. There are gadgets and tools people can use to decrease risk. One option is getting a doorbell with a built in camera, so homeowners get alerts and live video when someone comes to their door. Amazon also launched Key, a way for packages to be delivered inside homes so they’re not left on the doorstep.
