The Coroner's Office has released the official cause and manner of death for an inmate at Wasco State Prison who died in November 2016.

Thomas Russell, 48, was found unresponsive in his jail cell on November 29.

Life saving measures were attempted but he died a short time later.

The cause of death was heroin and methamphetamine intoxication and the manner of death was accident.
