BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The Kern County Veterans Service Department and Bakersfield Vet Center are hosting their annual “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” Celebration today at 10 a.m. at 1120 Golden State Avenue.

This year’s event will include a motorcycle salute, presentation of colors, singing of the national anthem, musical selections by the Highland Scots Pipes and Drum band, and remarks by Joe Drew, a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran who served as a helicopter pilot during the war and former Vice President of Tejon Ranch.

The public is invited to attend.
