Winds create dusty conditions at the fair

Posted

The sudden storm on Wednesday afternoon sent fairgoers running for cover.

The winds kicked up dirt throughout the fairgrounds and blew hay all over the livestock area.

FFA students displaying their animals say the winds moved in so quickly they were scared not only for themselves but for their livestock. Students were able to run into the barns to get away from the blowing dust.

Fair employees were given masks and a small crew had to rush to fix a tarp that almost fell over because of the gusty winds.

The crowds  were lighter than usually, but fairgoers were determined to have a good time took extra precautions to make sure the blowing wind wouldn't get in the way of their fun.
