Woman accused of killing a man by setting him on fire is competent to stand trial

A woman accused of killing a man by setting him on fire was found competent to stand trial today in court.

Kely Renee Garica was arrested on November 9th, 2015 in connection with the death of Richard Joaquin Sanchez.

Sanchez was found inside of a burning car in the 900 block of 30th Street in Bakersfield.

The victim had burns over his entire body. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

Court documents that say Garcia was found in her bra and panties near the car on fire during her arrest.

Garcia will appear in court  on July 20th.
