A Bakersfield woman is facing kidnapping charges after a failed kidnapping attempt in East Bakersfield.
Bakersfield Police officers said, 21-year-old Felicia Ascensio-Guillen was arrested Wednesday after the parents of a two-year-old reported seeing Ascensio-Guillen pickup their son and tried to walk away. Officers said the parents immediately stopped Ascensio-Guillen and rescued their child after a brief struggle with the suspect. The child was not injured during the kidnapping attempt.
Officers said they found Ascensio-Guillen a short distance away from where the kidnapping attempt occurred. Ascensio-Guillen is facing kidnapping, child endangerment and an unrelated resisting arrest charges.
