The Kern County Coroner has identified a woman who was hit and killed in the 3500 block of Cottonwood Rd. as 67-year-old Marie Meza Aguirre.
Bakersfield Police are trying to figure out what led to a deadly accident in southeast Bakersfield on Monday night.
Just after 8 p.m. police say a woman was crossing Cottonwood Road near Planz when she was hit by a car.
The woman was taken to a hospital where she later died.
Police are calling this an accident -- and have not arrested the driver of the car.
